Our Team

The UNAA-UK Executive is responsible for the day-to-day running of the association including;

– strategic planning, financial and organisatonal management, and making high level decisions the serves the best interest of the association and in line with its objectives, vision and mission

– steering the group to meet its set objectives, strengthening the alumni through membership drive, organising conventions/events and learning opportunities.

– building enthusiasm, commitment and motivation within the members, develops its profile through alumni engagement activities, and working together with other alumni groups at home and in diaspora to positively impact the alma mater towards restoring the dignity of man

Obianuju Chiamaka Amamgbo
President

A graduate of Linguistics (UNN), and MSc in MIT from the University of Nottingham. Obianuju is currently a Compliance Officer in the Civil Service. She is the founder of The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign Nigeria (TMDCN), a not-for-profit charity organisation that supports people in Nigeria with muscular dystrophy. She is a published author of two fictional novels – “Tears on Her Pillow” and “Hunted by Hawks”.

In her free time, Obianuju spends her time with family and friends, watching sports (football, tennis, basketball, athletics), reading and writing, and volunteering activities.

Monica Allison
Vice President

BSc Archaeology and Tourism  (UNN). Currently a Senior Professional Program Control at DXC Technology. She is a career coach & mentor in Project Management industry.

Amara Onoka
General Secretary

A graduate of Nursing Sciences (UNN), PGDE from Imo State University and MPH  from the University of Sheffield. Worked as a  registered nurse-educator with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria and currently working as a registered nurse at the Integrated Critical Care Unit, Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust. Amara loves to be happy. Studying, traveling to fun places and meeting up with alumni at UNAA-UK Convention are high points for her 

Chinedu Nevo
Assistant General Secretary

Chinedu had his Bachelor and Master’s degree in Economics from UNN, Master’s in Energy Policy, and currently completing his PhD degree focusing on Strategy and Business Innovation at the Open University Business School. He is a young enthusiastic changemaker who is passionate about supporting impactful organisations to make data and research-driven decisions.

Chinedu believes in the significant impacts of UNAA-UK on the lives of current UNN students. He also believes that UNAA-UK can contribute immensely to the structural development of the University of Nigeria.

Ben Umeh

Welfare

A graduate of Electronic Engineering (UNN). He is a Director at SquareBit Consulting Limited UK and currently works as a Software Consultant for Deutsche Bank in Luxembourg. Some of his hobbies are travelling, football and dancing. He also loves farming, He is a member of both the British and Nigeria Boer Goat Farmers Association.

Uchenna Ohuegbe

Treasurer

An MBA graduate (UNN) and MSc in Project Management from the University of Bedfordshire. She acquired another MA in Social Work from London South Bank University. She currently works as a Social Worker with Bedford Council. 

Valentine Maduko

Financial Secretary

Holds a BSc in Pure & Industrial Chemistry  (UNN). Acquired an MSc in Petroleum Technology from the University of Teesside as well as a PgD and MSc in  L&T from the University of Oxford, Kellogg College. Possesses experience in Banking & Investment, Oil & Gas Industry as well as in the Education sector. Currently works as a Chemistry Specialist and Head of Year with Durham County Council.

Olufemi Olukayode

Public Relations

Femi holds B.SC in Mental Health Nursing from University of Salford. He practices as Psychiatric Registered Nurse and currently working with Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. Femi holds both Bachelor Degree and Master Degree in VTE/VTE Agric from University of Nigeria.

Ken Uwakwe Odo

Ex-Officio (Immediate Past President)

Senior Diagnostic Radiographer with specialist competencies in Lithotripsy, CT Colonography and Interventional Imaging, among other areas. B.Sc Radiography (UNN). MBA. Former VP Sokoto Branch and National Secretary of UNAA Nigeria. The one hobby he is most passionate about is, bringing people together for the common good.
